Only Working Smoke Alarms SAVE LIVES
On Sunday, 2 April 2017 check your smoke alarms and move clocks back an hour from 3am to 2am.
There are two main types of smoke alarm, ionisation & photoelectric.
Ionisation alarms are good for sensing fast flaming fires & photo-electric alarms are more accurate at detecting larger particles indicative of slower smouldering blazes – both types of alarm provide protection. Fire Authorities advise that photoelectric smoke alarms are suited for residential fires & are less prone to false alarms from activities like cooking.
